Upcoming Special Events and Opportunities to "Join Us"
2025 Hospitality and Safety Training
Saturday, June 21
Parish Center Hall (Oakland)
9 a.m. – Noon (followed by a Free Lunch)
RSVP required before June 15 (contact information follows)
Our Hospitality Mission Team has arranged an all-in-one free training session for our parishioners. Training details follow:
Garrett County EMS will offer their "Stop-the-Bleed" training. This is a nationally-recognized program offered to schools, businesses, churches, and other organizations to provide the ability to recognize threatening bleeding and intervene effectively. This is intended for our entire congregation, with or without any Medical or First-Responder training.
Representatives from the Garrett County Sheriff’s Department will provide Active Assailant training to provide our greeters, ushers, and other mission team members with response options that can be used to stay safe in potentially violent encounters. Again: this is for all parish volunteers who may find themselves in a situation where they may assist with unexpected emergencies.
While any parishioner, who wishes to be better prepared to manage an unexpected emergency situation may attend, this training is required for:
Ushers
Safety/security team members, and
Anyone involved in greeting/hosting the public at our facilities.
Please confirm your attendance with Dominic D’Ambrosi and/or Patrick O’Brien before June 15 via email at Hospitality@GarrettStPeter.com. Thank you for your kind assistance with our planning needs.

Anytime we do something for others, whether it's saying a heartfelt prayer, or bringing a meal, or visiting them in their need -- Anytime we step out of ourselves to assist someone else through our acts of kindness...WE are the ones who will be most blessed, because we've acted selflessly, we've served, we've blessed another through a compassionate and merciful heart -- Just Like Jesus! You cannot outdo God in generosity ...
